The intelligent cockpit domain system centered around IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) is gradually becoming mainstream in the market. Sunplus focuses on the automotive intelligence and entertainment sector, offering Cockpit Electronics solutions with its 83XX series/21XX series ICs, which include applications such as IVI, Display Audio, Cluster, and HUD. Additionally, the 67XX series ICs provide Automated Driving solutions, featuring applications like AVM, DMS/IMS, ADAS, E-mirror, and APA. Furthermore, the 51XX series ICs offer functionalities such as Spatial Sound, Auto-EQ, EC/NR, and ITU-T Lab. This issue primarily shares their instrument panel solutions for four-wheel and two-wheel vehicles.

1. Two-Wheel Vehicle Instrument Panel Solution

Sunplus has a dedicated solution for the 210x series two-wheeler instrument panels, which supports numerous smartphone connectivity features such as CarPlay, CarLife, Y-Link, HiCar, and Android Auto. Moreover, Sunplus has developed its own smartphone connectivity software called Rider Link, with its functionality fully integrated into the chip SDK. The mobile app has also been developed, allowing customers to freely perform secondary development based on it.

Additionally, Sunplus has its own ITU-T laboratory, allowing Sunplus to assist customers with ITU-T testing. Whether it's DSP, CPU, or DSP algorithms, all are developed in-house by Sunplus. The testing process does not require coordination with multiple third-party companies, as ITU-T items can be directly tested through the ITU-T laboratory. After testing, the report can be submitted directly to Apple. If customers aim to pass CarPlay certification, this approach significantly reduces both time and costs.

In the two-wheeler dashboard solution, we have designed several different chips tailored to the varying specifications of our customers, with the main differences being in the DDR memory.

We have not only integrated numerous mobile connectivity solutions that customers can use upon authorization, but we have also integrated them into the UI layer, providing several basic UI options for customers. Customers can directly use these for mass production or perform secondary development based on them.

In terms of UI design, we use either the QT framework or our self-developed Sunlite framework. The Sunlite solution is optimized to achieve a boot speed of 2.2 seconds, allowing immediate operation—ready to use right after startup. Additionally, Sunlite provides a complete set of development tools that enable direct manipulation of the graphical interface. These tools can be integrated into VS Code as plugins for direct use, making it very beginner-friendly.

Additionally, we have set up our own Bluetooth base station, which enables dual Bluetooth connections. When customers are riding motorcycles, it allows communication between two helmets. Whether it's talking to each other or having different helmets play different audio—one listening to music while the other takes a call—it can all be achieved.

2. Four-wheel vehicle instrument panel solution

Similarly, Sunplus's four-wheeler dashboard solution integrates over 90% of the smartphone connectivity features available on the market. When using CarPlay for navigation, it supports multi-screen display, showing not only on the IVI but also on the dashboard. This avoids the awkward situation of missing navigation directions when a phone call comes in.

Generally speaking, the dashboard of a four-wheeler is sometimes linked with the IVI system. Therefore, in our solution, there are different approaches, such as one chip driving a single dashboard and another chip driving an IVI system, or a single chip driving both the IVI system and the cluster dashboard simultaneously.

Our different solution specifications can be referred to in the diagram below. They are tailored to various customer applications, such as pure instrument panel/central control + rearview camera solutions, or central control + AVM solutions, among others, each with distinct specifications.

For different customer needs, we have the following applications:

The related introductions to the aforementioned ADAS, E-Mirror, DSP audio processing, and so on can be found in another solution introduction of mine.
